Artist Statement about Historic Photo Public Art:
J believes strongly in public art!
"Some folks never get to a gallery or museum. For them, public art may be the only art they experience.
For others, public art enhances their time when they're out and about, a little breathing room, at a park, on the street,
at a hospital, airport, school, library, community center, government building."
J creates art that they can relate to directly no matter what their age or background and, of course, make them smile!
Her public art celebrates history, culture, people and place in an accessible format that everyone of all ages and backgrounds can relate to...using historic local images, local flora/fauna imagery, and multi-lingual text. It is knowledge of the community, people, events and nature that establishes a sense of place. Her public art is not only of honor and remembrance, but also fun and illusion. The goal is to create art that reaches out personally, visually, intellectually and emotionally across generations and cultures.
People in all neighborhoods of all cultures can find a sense of connectivity. J celebrates diversity and the importance of the individual within the local and global continuum. Her art will infuse your facility with a literal and thought-provoking atmosphere of discovery in a format that demonstrates strength and hope.
Please contact her if you have a percent-for-art or public art project…or if you want to enhance your company facility or home.
She will design site-specific art that your community, your family will love!
